New Stockists and New Designs

Doodle & Boom

I’m so excited that Doodle & Boom on Bangor’s seafront are now stocking many of my Northern Ireland Icon cards! I have created two new designs especially for them – Bangor’s landmark McKee Clock and the iconic Donaghadee Lighthouse.

Doodle & Boom is a multi award-winning, independent, family run retail outlet in Bangor. They provide a mix of quality gift and homeware, most of which is handcrafted in Ireland or the UK and a lot of which is unique to their shop in the Bangor area.  Hopefully we can all visit them at 2 Quay Street once the shop is allowed to reopen after our latest lockdown.

Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark

I am very happy that Marble Arch Caves will shortly be stocking a range of my cards including some NI Icon cards and I have designed two new NI Icon cards especially for them. I cannot wait to visit this very special and unique place when restrictions are lifted.

The Marble Arch Caves is a major tourist attraction, set in the picturesque foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain, just a short journey from the Island town of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The landscape encompassing the Marble Arch Caves was formed over 340 million years ago. Today this natural environment of caves, rivers, mountains, ancient woodlands, waterfalls and gorges offer an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the incredible range of activities and experiences the Marble Arch Caves have to offer.

Covid-19 Lockdown

Just when I sourced biodegradable packaging for my cards……. the lockdown happened and business ground to a halt. I’ve been keeping busy and creative during this time – both in the house and garden.   Hopefully the long term impact will not be too damaging, but I keep reminding myself it could be so much worse.  My family are all safe and well so far.

Space CRAFT NI shop in Belfast city centre

I am thrilled to have been selected to sell my cards in Space CRAFT  in Belfast city centre.  It’s a shop, gallery and exhibition area managed by CRAFT NI (the sector lead body for Craft in Northern Ireland, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland). Space CRAFT sells ‘lovely stuff’ that is made locally.

I’ve just made my first delivery of hand painted silk cards, and will be providing Christmas cards next month.  I’m excited that space CRAFT is relocating to new premises on Royal Avenue, Belfast in September 2019, allowing them to expand their range of makers.

Happy New Year

As 2019 opens and orders have started coming in again, I’m loving getting back into painting. Making the most of the daylight hours, there is so much to inspire on our coasts and countryside.

Thank you to all my 2018 customers and a very happy new year to you all – I hope it’s a good one for everyone.IMG_20181019_0001

Autumn Work

I’ve been busy making hundreds of Christmas Cards over the last couple of months, and many are already delivered to my stockists.  It does seem to get earlier every year – some people are very organised, especially with their overseas cards. I’m already thinking of new designs for the spring, including Valentine’s Day.

I’ve also made a new Golf Links design to celebrate the 148th British Open being played at Royal Portrush in July 2019.  This is an historic return to Northern Ireland for golf’s oldest and most international Championship after nearly 70 years.

Northern Ireland Icon Range

This year, I have been working with the tourism sector to expand my range of Northern Ireland icon cards.  It is wonderful to see increasing numbers of international visitors to our wonderful and stunningly beautiful country.  The range now includes Carrick-A-Rede; Parliament Buildings; and Belfast City Hall. I’m working on more designs.  See them all below.
